Obituary for Joe Lee Tincher

Joe Lee Tincher, 80 of Rupert passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, VA. Joe was born February 8, 1939 at Blue Sulphur Springs, WV and was a son of the late Roy Edward and Selma Jane Berry Tincher. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Agnes “Rose” Fry, two sisters, Shirley Tincher, and Marie Tincher, three brothers, Alfred, Curtis, and Buck Tincher, grandson Taylor Tincher, granddaughters, April Tincher and Jennifer Fry, and great grandson, Liam Tincher.

Joe was a logger, mechanic, and a coal truck driver.

Survivors include three sons, William “Melvin” Tincher of Pearsburg, VA, Virgil Edward Tincher of Smoot, and Elmer “James” Tincher of Christiansburg, VA, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, two sisters, Helen May Tincher of Blue Sulphur Springs, and Bertha Powell of Oregon

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Lantz Funeral Home in Alderson with Mr. Ricky Tickle officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home in Alderson from 12:00 noon until time of services.
